My Storey

A little girl who used to draw small house sketches on paper and color them with the colors her father bought her. She never knew she would actually become an architect and design those houses one day. Honestly, studying architecture wasn’t even planned.

Engineering was the original idea. But when it was time to apply, I went through every department in the prospectus, looked at the subjects, and felt nothing. Then I got to the architecture department > seeing 3D models, projects, and paintings < I felt something form inside, a happiness, and that was it. I decided to do architecture.

But doing architecture was not easy. Depression, the pressure to do your best, jury deadlines that were absolutely chaotic. In my final year, somewhere between all of that, I started freelancing not because I had a plan, but because almost every classmate was doing it and I needed the money lol.

At the start it felt too difficult to work with clients and understand what they actually needed. But after project after project things got better. Clients started liking my work and it gave me more confidence that I am actually good at design and I can do this.

I have been working with local as well as international clients ever since, and then built my own brand ZAACO. With time I realized how important it is to have your own identity that should be seen in your design as well. So I built one.

 

Still that same girl. Just designing at a bigger scale now.
